Welcome to the AAATE 2025 Conference!

We are delighted to announce the 18th biennial AAATE 2025 Conference, which will take place from September 10-12, 2025, at the European University Cyprus, in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Humanity is undoubtedly witnessing an exciting yet overwhelming era, where technological advancements are beginning to resemble the science fiction of the recent past. Technology is shaping our lives, and for many individuals, including persons with disabilities, it serves as a critical enabler, removing barriers and enhancing participation and inclusion in all aspects of society. Assistive technology has never received so much attention, with various global initiatives aiming for “a world where assistive technology is universally accessible to everyone, everywhere,” as articulated by the World Health Organization’s Global Cooperation on Assistive Technology (GATE) initiative. However, many challenges remain, and new ones are emerging, reinforcing the imperative to keep our human networks connected.

Every two years, the AAATE conference brings together a diverse community of researchers, experts, practitioners, manufacturers, assistive technology (AT) users, policymakers, and accessibility providers, along with everyone dedicated to advancing this field. Together, we explore the latest innovations, visionary concepts, and cutting-edge trends in assistive technology and accessibility.

In 2025, AAATE will be celebrating its 30th anniversary, giving us the opportunity to reflect on what has been achieved and, more importantly, to define the AT agenda for the years ahead.

We warmly welcome contributions and participation in sharing ideas that cover all aspects of technology designed to empower individuals and enhance inclusivity!

We look forward to seeing you in Cyprus!
