Description

For individuals with significant physical impairment or limited hand function, daily activities that many take for granted can become significant challenges. Simple tasks like reaching for a phone, operating lights or calling for help can be daunting, leaving them dependent on others for assistance. Access to the environment around them becomes a barrier to engagement and participation and a potential health risk.

To allow access to basic and essential environmental controls, the ECU 50 has been developed as an environmental control solution to provide individuals with a single point of control to aspects of their Environment.

The ECU-50 is a customisable single switch, step-scanning device designed to integrate the operation of basic environmental controls into one system for clients, within their primary residence. The System can be operated with any single accessibility switch, either commercially made or custom fabricated by our team and can be adapted to be operated by most Power Wheelchair control systems.

Currently, we are able to offer integration to compatible devices in the following categories:

  • Nurse Call system
  • Bed Controls
  • Automatic door openers
  • Television controls
  • RF Plugs for small appliances
  • Pass through option for Phone or Tablet access

The ECU50 is an innovative and essential assistive technology that enhances the quality of life for individuals with significant imparments of physical function. It offers a hands-free, intuitive, and reliable way for users to control their environment and request help, giving them greater independence and peace of mind. As we continue to innovate and integrate technology into our daily lives, devices like the ECU50 will remain central in creating accessible, supportive environments for individuals with disabilities, enabling them to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.
